“OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO” WITH THE CCCC

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday and he wrote so many great books but one, in particular, fits here for March…Oh, the Places You’ll Go. In looking back over the last five years of charitable donations made by the club for an article last month, I thought that listing “Oh, the places we went” over those five years would be a good topic for another article.

Besides the traditional CCCC events of “Mystery Cruises”, Meetings/Cookouts, Spring Kick-off Cruises/Brunch, Annual Holiday Parties, “Toys for Tots Cruises”, Caravans to Carlisle, Cruise Nights (at Joe’s Diner, Blondie’s, Harbor Chevrolet, and Fonzie’s), each year we have had other additional events on our “Events Calendar” sheet, such as...

All of these events were created by, organized by, arranged by and lead by members who volunteered to run an event. Many events are traditions since this club’s inception in 1998 and have been carried on by subsequent officers to keep the traditions going. Many are tried once and then no one volunteers again to run a similar one. Many should be tried again if some member would step up and volunteer to be in charge of it. Let’s hope some do as all ideas are and were worthwhile! As each Events Calendar says: “Volunteers needed! Ideas wanted!”
