1993 Corvette

Unlike 1983 when there was no Corvette model and Chevrolet missed having an anniversary year, they did not miss this time. The highlight this year was their 40th Anniversary and to commemorate it, a special color scheme was introduced - Ruby Red with matching color for interior and convertible top. Of the approximately 21,600 corvettes produced for this model year, 6,749 had the Anniversary option. Also new this year year for the Corvette was the keyless entry system. The LT-5 engine (used exclusively in the ZR-1)saw valve redesign, a 4 bolt main and the H.P. rating now at 405 (up from 375) This was the last year that cloth seats were standard although there were only 426 corvettes produced that had cloth (black) seats. Exterior colors available were Arctic White, Black, Bright Aqua, Polo Green, Competition Yellow, Ruby Red, Torch Red, Black Rose, Dark Red, Quasar Blue. Interior colors were Black, Light Beige, Light Gray, Red, Ruby Red, White. There were 15,898 coupes and 5,712 convertibles produced for this model year

In our club 3 members have Corvettes of this vintage. Jimmy T has an Anniversary Ruby red convertible, Gary J a Torch Red  ZR-1 and Charlie A has a Competition Yellow Convertible.
